Public Service Announcement

For your information.

Cosmos:

Ragweed:

If one is going to water and tend to a plant, one might want to make sure that said plant is not of the variety that causes one's husband to sneeze nonstop from morning til night. If said plant is of the make-one's-husband sneeze variety, one might also not want to allow such plant to grow to the height of four feet and to start to bloom. Just outside the front door of one's home.

(One's husband wishes one had read this type of PSA elsewhere some time ago.)

p.s. I completely lifted these images from Google images when I started to "wonder" about my "cosmo" plant and decided to do some research. I cannot find the photos again to credit them, but if they are yours, let me know!

Oh...I can't imagine what would happen to my head if I had a four-foot ragweed plant growing outside my house!

Glad you figured it out. :)

Such a husband would also appreciate THIS wife taking them off of the table (in the vase) and taking them back outside where she found them. (But they were SO pretty!!)

I never knew what a ragweed plant looked like! Too funny that you actually cultivated it!

Your point is definitely well stated … and thanks for the ‘educational’ post. I especially appreciate the illustrations.

Well, that explains why I've been having allergies like crazy this season...we're surrounded by ragweed! Thanks for posting these pics...I would never have been able to identify them.

Poor hubby!

Mrs.4 -- no! Really?!! How is the sneeze level on your house? ;)

Andie, Happy Pulling Up Ragweed day? It's what I'll be doing -- I've discovered it all around our yard, too. Whoops.

Bah! I am going to go look outside under a specific window in our house. Every time Jim sits on this one couch he starts sneezing. I am betting our friend Ragweed is growing right outside!

Ooops! Hopefully a certain husband is equipped with a good sense of humor...

Ack! Well, at least you figured it out. Eventually. That counts, no?

I say you're a hero for watering anything, ever. I'm like the Wicked Witch of gardening...

You water plants? So that's the secret to keeping them alive?

I have much to learn from you.
